Myler Western Bit Flat Shank with Cyprium Correctional Low Port

The Myler Stainless Steel 7" Flat Shank with Cyprium correctional low port is Level 2-3 Bit. This bit is perfect for horses that can benefit from more tongue relief or horses with advanced skills but require more control. The Cyprium bits are made out of high quality copper and are completely nickel free. The copper makes this bit more readily accepted by horses and increases salivation and chewing.

Level: Two-Three

Design: The shank consists of a length of metal with two rings and a fixed mouthpiece attachment. The mouthpiece is curved with a low port. It is covered in cyprium to appeal to the horse's taste.

Function:

Shanks are used for leverage and, typically, with a curb strap or chain. Depending upon the mouthpiece used, backward and upward pressure on the reins transfers into downward pressure on the poll, pressure on the curb, and forward and downward pressure on the palate. The tops, or purchases are bent away from the horse to prevent discomfort or rubbing.

Collapses on bars.
Joint drives into center of tongue.
