THE NEW STANDARD!
WeatherBeeta’s indepth research into the natural movement of horses led to a revolutionary new design, which provides freedom of movement and all over protection. Designed in response to requests from horse owners worldwide, WeatherBeeta recognised the need for a horse’s increased flexibility and greater freedom of movement in the shoulder area and around the front legs.
WeatherBeeta’s advancements in seam taping technology have created a range that is waterproof, without sacrificing style or comfort, giving your horse the all over protection that it deserves. The Freestyle range has been
developed with advanced design technology and rigorous infield and laboratory testing so WeatherBeeta can
provide a product of the highest quality.
UNIQUE CUPPED SHOULDER DART
The unique cupped dart truly frees a horse’s chest and shoulders. The sewn in dart is independently structured, creating a small pocket of room at the chest that skims the horse’s body perfectly allowing full and fluid movement. This also alleviates restriction and rubbing.
CORRECTLY POSITIONED FREEDOM GUSSET
The gussets have been repositioned to the front of the legs rather than on the sides. This allows the horse’s legs to move fluidly, opening and closing the gusset naturally in conjunction with the unique cupped dart creating maximum freedom in the chest & shoulder area.
The WeatherBeeta Freestyle range combines unique features that are available across the entire new Spring turnout rug range, from the Landa through to the Orican.
WEATHERSTOP FULL WRAP TAIL FLAP
The Weatherstop tail flap is considerably wider to offer maximum all over protection against the elements, this unique 2 piece design actually harnesses the wind, using its force to wrap and tuck the fabric around the tail when the horse turns its back to the weather and does not restrict tail movement. The weatherstop tail flap also acts as a stabiliser, helping to prevent the rug from slipping and providing greater shape around the horses quarters.

A number of styles in our range include a ripstop weave that helps contain any rips or tears in the unlikely event this happens. Ripstop features hundreds of small squares which give the fabric its distinctive ‘checkerboard’ look. In the event of a rip, the fabric structure will contain it and reduce it from spreading along the length of the fabric. However ripstop does not guarantee that the fabric will not rip at all.
Please note: Reinforced yarns are not indestructible, and will give way if your horse is at any risk of becoming trapped.
All of our turnout rug/blankets have fully taped seams. This adds a physical barrier to the seam, guaranteeing that moisture is kept out. Occasionally in extreme weather conditions and heavy downpours, the sewn in areas of the rug such as the surcingles, tail flap etc (which cannot be seam taped) may allow a small amount of water penetration through the stitch holes. This problem is commonly found on all turnout/ paddock rugs and is not unique to WeatherBeeta.
TAKA stainless steel buckles look great, hold fast and are guaranteed for life.
A fabric’s ‘Denier’ rating relates to the weight of the yarn in the fabric. The higher the denier, the heavier (and tougher) the fabric. So choose rugs/blankets with high denier rating where you expect lots of wear and tear and lower denier ratings where wear is likely to be less.
We also offer different kinds of outer fabrics to suit both you and your horse’s lifestyles.
For instance:
The WeatherBeeta TAKA range has a 1260 Denier polyester and nylon mix outer shell that is super strong and will look great long term. This type of yarn and weaving style makes it a stronger and more durable fabric than just plain polyester.
The WeatherBeeta Arion range boasts a 1260 denier polyester/nylon mix outer shell which is extremely strong, delivering outstanding performance and incredible good looks. This blend combines the advantages of the lightweight properties of polyester with the extra strength and durability of nylon.
The WeatherBeeta Orican range has a 1200 denier ‘ripstop’ outer shell offering great wear thanks to the added strength of the ‘checkerboard’ pattern in this reinforced fabric enabling it to contain rips and tears.
The WeatherBeeta Landa range has a strong 600 denier outer shell for normal everyday wear.
A number of our styles are DuPont®Teflon Coated. This coating helps repel dirt and water while maintaining optimum breathable and waterproof qualities of the fabric.
Polyfill’s warmth is measured in grams of synthetic insulation per square metre or square foot. The higher the grams, the more fill per given area, the warmer your horse will be! Our rug/blankets are available in a variety of fills (from 110g to 400g) to suit the season, your location (geographic, paddock, stable, indoor, outdoor) and your horse’s needs.
We also offer lightweight rug/blankets/sheet without any fill at all for warmer climates and mild Spring and Autumn/Fall days.
WeatherBeeta rugs/ blankets have a 100% fully breathable and waterproof outer fabric. Adding to this protection, our rugs feature fully taped seams, which add a physical barrier to the seams of the rug, guaranteeing that moisture is kept out.

We can say with confidence that:
• All fabrics used by WeatherBeeta achieve over and above the recommended standard/ levels
• Independent laboratory tests are carried out at the beginning and throughout rug production.
• Field tests are also carried out (including multiple washes) to ensure that the water repellence characteristics are maintained in use.
WeatherBeeta polar fleece coolers and lined blankets/rugs feature the unique properties of space age polar fleece – breathability with a “hydrophilic” (water loving) quality that combines with body temperature to draw moisture away from your horse’s coat to keep him cool, dry and comfortable. By drawing excess sweat and moisture to the surface of the rug it allows it to evaporate through the breathable fabric, helping to prevent your horse from catching a chill.
We know how important it is to keep your horse warm and dry — so we developed the BreatheEasy system!
Our fabrics are specially coated to allow sweat and excess moisture to pass through from inside to the outside air. Your horse stays dry and comfortable, not clammy and chilled.
The BreatheEasy system is made up of a ‘hydrophilic’ (water loving) coating on the inside of the fabric, which draws excess sweat and moisture to it. Temperature differences between the air inside and outside the rug/blanket then force moisture outwards. Keeping your horse warm, dry and comfortable – EASY!
