Myler Western Bit HBT Shank with Sweet Iron Ported Barrel
This bit has a high port made for horses finished with their training. It is meant for horses that possess advanced skill and work well off of the leg, seat, and hands, allowing the horse to relax at the poll. This mouthpiece also offers independent side movement which allows the rider to work one side of the horse at a time and give more advanced aids.

Design: The shank consists of a length of metal with two rings and a fixed mouthpiece attachment. The mouthpiece is curved with an upward curve and a jointed barrel in the center. 1 1/2" Port. |
Function:
- Shanks are used for leverage and, typically, with a curb strap or chain. Depending upon the mouthpiece used, backward and upward pressure on the reins transfers into downward pressure on the poll, pressure on the curb, and forward and downward pressure on the palate. The tops, or purchases are bent away from the horse to prevent discomfort or rubbing.
- Downward pressure on top of bars.
- No tongue pressure.
- Some palate pressure.
- Turns solid when asking for a stop.
