This Short Shank bit has Sweet Iron and a Sweet Iron Mullen Barrel Low Port with a Copper Inlay. This mouthpiece is made of polished Sweet Iron that naturally oxidizes or rusts.It is harmless to horses and has a sweet taste which promotes salivation.
