This leather Deluxe Sliding Side Reins with Snaps from Tory Leather has several names including Vienna Side Reins and Vienna Lunge Reins. Its purpose is to be used as a training aid to encourage the horse to learn to balance himself, round his back and carry himself properly on the bit. These reins have a similar action as that of the German Martingale where as the horse adjusts himself to the pressure of the reins without the rider pulling. The Deluxe Vienna Sliding Side Reins feature snaps at the rein ends and a snap and girth loop added to the strap for easy on and off attachment to the girth. They are fully adjustable and come in the Havana color. They are also used with a training surcingle or saddle when lunging the horse.
